PATTERNS
Dancing like my mother did
Like her mother did
Like the mother of her
One two three
One two three
mother did
As my father did
As his father did
As the father of his
father did
Three four five
Three four five
Three four five
One two three
Three four five
Like the others did
Like all the others did
Dancing in familiar patterns
Perfect patterns
indeed
Letting the patterns fall
Once and for all
For us all
Moving along
On my own
On the lines
Cut so fine
As the patterns
become
Divine
